Marketing is one of the key challenges facing the sustainable energy sector. SE2 takes a creative and fresh approach to encouraging consumers, businesses and the public sector to take action to tackle climate change and reduce their energy impact.
Well-written information and guidance can also provide a real spur to individuals and organisations considering the issues around sustainability and climate change.
SE2 has established a strong track record in writing original guidance, copywriting technical information into appropriate styles for different audiences and producing case studies, brochures and other communications collateral.
Levels of awareness of climate change have never been higher; there is now widespread understanding of how behaviour and choices can have a positive or negative effect on the environment. Yet there is still a gap between awareness and action.
SE2 has provided marketing and communications consultancy to some of the most pioneering environmental projects in the UK.
We were marketing consultants to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s Flagship Home sustainable refurbishment project, helping to raise the profile of the contribution older and heritage buildings can make to carbon emissions reductions.
Our work in marketing energy efficiency to landlords and tenants in the private rented sector has brought environmental issues to the heart of debate in the sector. Resources, events, workshops and websites now exist to help raise awareness, drive action and build cooperation between landlords and tenants towards greater energy efficiency.
Again in the private rented sector, we worked with the North Fulham New Deal for Communities area to target tenants with messages and incentives related to energy saving behaviour.
Visit our case studies page for more information on these and other projects.
We are often asked to help our clients to “translate” quite detailed or technical information into more user-friendly material for their audiences, be they professionals or consumers.
We take great care to learn about our audiences, to understand their levels of interest and motivation, and to produce information which is clear, insightful and motivating.
Working with a team of technical authors, we provided this “translation” service to the RIBA for their suite of Climate Change Tools for architects, and to the Energy Saving Trust for their comprehensive and well-regarded Energy Efficiency: The Guide, for local authorities and housing associations.
For sustainability to become the everyday, it’s important that others have the information that they need to take decisions. We have recently produced guidance for secondary school teachers on addressing sustainable energy in the classroom, along with resources for landlords and tenants of private rented homes, and a handbook for managers of housing schemes for older people.
Examples of our information and guidance can be found on our publications page.
