We have just heard the incredibly sad and unexpected news of the death of Mel Starrs.
We only came to know Mel over the past year or so, but she made such an impression. She was always full of energy and joy - even as she disappeared into a pile of Government consultation documents, lamented skills shortages or inequalities in engineering and architecture, or ploughed her way through technical calculation after technical calculation.
